Description For temporary or emergency door frame repairs following a break-in or forced entry by emergency services. Wood door frames take a great deal of damage during forced entry, and need to be pieced back together and made usable just as much as the door to restore security to a space. The repair angle makes these repairs quick and easy to restore a working door frame on the lock jamb side until a new frame can be sourced and installed. The repair angle is an essential piece of hardware for mending doors following a break-in or forced entry. A must-have tool for Building Managers, Handymen, Locksmiths, and Carpenters. It’s made of thin aluminum to fit inside the normal gap between the door and door jamb. Mounting holes are pre-drilled and countersunk for installation with your standard flat-head wood screws. Specifications Material: Aluminum Finish: Powder coated white Dimensions: 80″ high x 1 5/8″ x 2″ Installation Check the height of the door frame to be repaired. The 80″ angle height can be trimmed easily if needed but should fit almost all residential or commercial door frames. Piece as much of the wooden door frame together is as possible. The repair angle is meant to hold the splintered pieces of the door jamb together, provide overall structure for the frame, and create a solid point for the door lock to latch to. Use appropriate length flat-head wood screws (2″, 3″, or 4″) to fasten the angle tightly into the frame. A rubber mallet can help push it into place where splintered wood is preventing a snug and even fit. With the door closed, mark the center of the door latch on the astragal, and measure to the center of the latch from the edge of the door also. Using this as your center point, use a 1″ hole saw to drill a hole into the angle for the door latch to catch. Test the door closing and latching. Adjust as necessary. Item Number SKU: 105040
