Description When a wooden door is damaged by break-in or other forced entry, the area of the door around the locks and latch usually receives the most damage, making it impossible to secure. These kinds of doors for strata residential units often come in custom sizes and finishes and can take weeks to order from a door manufacturer. In order to repair the door and make it operable and lockable, installing a wrap over the damaged area is the only way to hold the door together until a replacement arrives. Our galvanized steel door wraps come in 2 standard sizes for 1 3/8″ or 1 3/4″ thick doors. You can cut the lock or knob holes into the wrap using a standard hole saw (for metal) attached to a drill. Specifications Dimensions: 12″ x 24″ x 1 3/8″ or 12″ x 24″ x 1/3/4″ Material: Galvanized steel Installation Remove locksets and knob sets from the door and piece the door back together as best you can using screws or nails. Place the wrap over the door to mark the inset and height of the lockset holes.
