Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 13 is the latest release from Mitchell’s Glengyle Distillery, showcasing the bold and smoky character that has made this series a favourite among Campbeltown whisky enthusiasts. This batch marks the welcome return to Kilkerran’s traditional bottle style, moving away from the taller, slimmer bottles used temporarily in the previous release. Crafted with the distillery’s signature heavily peated spirit, Batch 13 balances robust smoke with layers of sweetness and savoury complexity. On the nose, it opens with creamy butterscotch, banana fritters and delicate elderflower, setting the stage for a richly textured dram. The palate is dominated by peat smoke, yet beautifully complemented by notes of honeydew melon and Iberico ham, creating a unique interplay of sweet and savoury. The finish is long and lingering, with smoke continuing alongside fresh verbena and golden honeycomb.
