The Vir2osity cymbal features distinct playing zones to give maximum variety in sound. The outer edge provides a complex, yet controlled tone. The lathed area has a much livelier sound with plenty of clarity. The central bell is separated to give a definitively loud ping. The signature ride cymbal features pronounced hammer marks to further the tonal qualities of the surface. The Vir2osity has a stunning appearance with plenty of character, and is a fitting tribute to Carl Palmer. Carl Palmer The wake of progressive music during the 1960s and 70s brought many musicians pushing their craft into new, exciting levels. Carl Palmer is one of the drummers to achieve this. Playing for the rock band ELP, Palmer achieved critical acclaim for fusing genres of music to create a style many would later take influence from. This signature 20” ride cymbal, named Vir2osity, has been handmade in Switzerland, collaborating Paiste’s traditional methods of craftsmanship with Palmer’s particular preferences.
