That means there are few overtones and little wash, leading to a much more focused sound and crystal-clear stick definition. Each cymbal is finished off with a fully lathed bottom and a raw natural top, creating a dark, dirty appearance that’s unique to each cymbal and adds a personal touch to each drum kit. Special Dry Ride: The Special Dry 21” ride cymbal features a super short sustain even when crashing. When riding, the wash is quick and low, but still present, leaving you with a crisp and focused stick sound with every stroke. This is perfect for fat, funky grooves and breakbeats that require defined strokes during quick passages. But, it does still have a nice, dark shimmering wash for jazz grooves.
