This was the 13th Brora Special Release and the third and final 35-year-old in the series. This 35-year-old Brora Special Release was bottled from a small batch of refill American and European oak casks from the 1978 vintage in a limited edition of 2964 bottles at its natural cask strength of 48.6%. One of the best of the latter-day Brora Special Releases, this 2014 edition has subtle but well-integrated smoke, but is more famous for a phenomenal fruitiness encompassing melon, pineapple, citrussy cooked grapefruit, pear and apple flavours, balanced by hints of pepper, hay and natural caramel. A masterpiece.
